About This Game:
Wasteland Remastered is an updated presentation of the original post-apocalyptic role-playing game that helped establish many ideas later associated with the Wasteland and Fallout series. Players lead a squad of Desert Rangers across a ruined American Southwest filled with settlements, mutants, machines, raiders, and unusual survivors.
The remaster preserves the underlying old-school RPG structure while replacing much of the original visual and audio presentation. Character statistics, skills, equipment, exploration, and text-heavy choices remain central to solving problems across the wasteland.
How the Gameplay Works
Players create and manage a party whose members specialize in different combat and utility skills. Encounters can involve ranged or melee combat, while exploration frequently checks abilities such as lockpicking, perception, demolition, medical knowledge, or other learned skills.
Travel takes place across an overworld connecting towns, facilities, deserts, and hidden locations. Ammunition and resources must be managed carefully, and many situations reward experimenting with skills or items rather than treating every obstacle as a straightforward fight.
