About This Game:
Way of the Samurai 4 is an action adventure set in the fictional Japanese port town of Amihama during a period of political and cultural change. The player’s custom samurai becomes caught between government forces, foreign visitors, and local groups whose competing goals can lead the story in very different directions.
The game is designed around replaying its relatively short storyline while making different decisions each time. Conversations, alliances, fights, and seemingly minor actions can alter later events, opening new scenes and endings that may not appear during the first playthrough.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore Amihama from a third-person viewpoint while speaking with characters, accepting tasks, and entering sword fights. Different weapons and fighting styles provide unique moves, while defeated opponents can leave behind swords and other equipment that can be collected and improved.
Time moves forward as events occur, so being in a particular location at the right moment can reveal completely different story opportunities. Players can support different factions, remain independent, participate in optional activities, and repeatedly begin new playthroughs while carrying some progression forward.
