About This Game:
We Happy Few is a first-person survival adventure set in Wellington Wells, an alternate-history English city where citizens use a drug called Joy to avoid confronting a traumatic past. The story follows several playable characters trying to escape or survive a society built around forced happiness and denial.
The world combines narrative missions with survival systems, stealth, crafting, exploration, and social conformity. Taking or refusing Joy changes how the city looks and how easily the player can blend in with its residents.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather food, healing supplies, crafting materials, weapons, and clothing while moving through districts with different rules. Guards and citizens become suspicious if the player behaves strangely, enters restricted areas, or appears improperly dressed.
Combat uses melee weapons, blocking, throwing items, and crafted tools, but stealth or disguise is often safer. Character campaigns have different abilities and story priorities, providing separate perspectives on Wellington Wells.
