About This Game:
A Plague Tale: Innocence is a narrative action-adventure set in medieval France during war and the spread of the Black Death. Players follow Amicia de Rune and her younger brother Hugo as they flee the Inquisition and attempt to survive a countryside overwhelmed by violence, disease, and enormous swarms of rats.
The relationship between the siblings forms the center of the story. Amicia begins with limited combat ability and must rely on stealth, her sling, environmental tools, and assistance from companions to overcome threats.
How the Gameplay Works
Players guide Amicia through linear and semi-open environments while avoiding soldiers and rat swarms. Light is critical because rats avoid illuminated areas, making torches, fires, and other light sources part of many environmental puzzles.
Amicia’s sling can distract guards, destroy objects, extinguish or ignite certain targets, and eventually eliminate some enemies. Crafting upgrades improve equipment while companion abilities provide additional solutions to stealth and puzzle situations.
