About This Game:
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox continues Adol Christin’s adventures in the prison city of Balduq. After being detained shortly after arriving, Adol becomes connected to a mysterious group known as the Monstrums, each possessing supernatural powers and a role in the strange events surrounding the city.
The action RPG combines a story-heavy city adventure with fast combat, dungeon exploration, character switching, and new movement abilities. Balduq gradually opens into a large interconnected playground where rooftops, walls, and hidden passages can be explored.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control a party of characters in real-time battles, switching between them to exploit enemy weaknesses and use different attack types. Skills consume SP, while well-timed dodges and guards can create valuable openings against stronger opponents.
Monstrum Gifts transform exploration by allowing actions such as running up walls, gliding, grappling toward distant points, or detecting hidden objects. Story progression also includes large defensive battles against supernatural enemies alongside traditional dungeon and boss encounters.
