Blood Reaver is a dark-fantasy first-person shooter built around surviving repeated rounds of demonic enemies. Players become cursed warriors known as Blood Reavers, combining firearms with forbidden supernatural powers as an ancient conflict between Earth and Hell begins again. The game can be played alone or cooperatively with a team of up to four players.
Traditional wave-shooter gunplay is expanded through blood-powered abilities, magical disciplines, weapon enhancements, and upgrades obtained during a match. Hidden areas and secrets also provide pieces of background lore connected to the Blood Reavers, the gods of Hell, and the history behind the invasion.
How the Gameplay Works
Players enter combat arenas and survive increasingly dangerous rounds of demons using guns, melee attacks, spells, and special abilities. Blood harvested from defeated enemies powers important abilities, creating an incentive to keep attacking while the number of enemies continues to increase. Different magical disciplines offer additional ways to control crowds, deal damage, or manipulate the battlefield.
Weapons can be strengthened through Blood Infusions, while the Deck of Fates provides upgrades during the current match. Spells can be changed to suit different situations, making it possible to create combinations between weapons, utility magic, lethal abilities, and powerful ultimates. Long-term progression continues outside individual matches, while secrets and hidden content reward players who explore between waves.
