Across the Obelisk is a party-based deckbuilding RPG where four heroes travel through branching regions packed with battles, events, merchants, upgrades, and difficult decisions. Each character uses a personalized deck, allowing the entire party to be built around combinations of damage, defense, healing, status effects, or other strategies.
Runs can be played alone or cooperatively, with players choosing heroes and developing their decks together. Random events and branching routes mean two journeys can produce different encounters even when using the same party.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat is turn based, with heroes and enemies acting according to speed and using cards for attacks, spells, buffs, healing, and defensive actions. Because four decks operate together, powerful builds often depend on one character setting up effects that another can exploit.
Between battles, players choose routes, modify cards, purchase equipment, and respond to story events. Failure ends the current adventure, but unlocked heroes, cards, and other progression options provide more possibilities for future runs.
