About This Game:
Ashen is an action RPG set in a world that has spent generations without sunlight and is beginning to change after the return of a mysterious source of light. Players take the role of a wanderer searching for a place to call home while exploring landscapes filled with ancient ruins, hostile creatures, underground caverns, and other survivors trying to rebuild their lives.
The adventure combines challenging combat with a strong sense of companionship. Characters encountered during exploration can eventually settle at the player’s growing community, where they provide new quests and services. The settlement gradually becomes more developed, creating a visible reminder of the relationships formed during the journey.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat uses stamina for attacks, dodges, and defensive actions, encouraging players to watch enemy patterns instead of attacking continuously. Different melee weapons provide varying speed, range, and damage, while shields and throwable weapons add further options during encounters. Larger enemies and bosses require careful timing and positioning.
Exploration is often shared with a companion controlled either by another player through passive online cooperation or by AI when necessary. The world contains open areas as well as dangerous dungeons where supplies and light become especially important. Completing character quests expands the settlement and unlocks additional equipment, crafting options, and services.
