Automation – The Car Company Tycoon is a vehicle design and business simulation that lets players build cars and engines while running an automotive manufacturer. Instead of choosing from ready-made vehicle templates, players can adjust a large range of mechanical and visual characteristics to create everything from inexpensive economy cars to luxury sedans, sports cars, off-road vehicles, and high-performance machines.
The engineering tools are combined with a company-management campaign where vehicle design must also make financial sense. A technically impressive car can still fail if it is too expensive, unreliable, poorly matched to its intended market, or difficult to manufacture. Changing technology and customer expectations continually create new challenges for the company.
How the Gameplay Works
Vehicle creation begins with choices such as body style, chassis construction, suspension, drivetrain, materials, tires, brakes, aerodynamics, interior quality, and safety. The engine designer provides even deeper control over configuration, displacement, aspiration, fuel system, cam profiles, exhaust, and tuning. Testing data helps reveal weaknesses before a design reaches production.
In campaign play, players establish factories, develop models, choose target markets, manage production costs, and update vehicles as technology advances. Designs need to appeal to specific customer groups while remaining profitable to manufacture. Cars created in Automation can also be exported for driving in compatible versions of BeamNG.drive.
