Backrooms Society is a cooperative horror game that turns the endless spaces of the Backrooms into a dangerous scavenging expedition. Players enter unsettling levels in search of valuable objects, useful materials, and information while trying to survive the entities that inhabit the maze.
A central hub provides a safer place between expeditions, where recovered valuables can be traded and equipment prepared for another journey. Different levels introduce their own objectives and threats, while a Metro system can transport explorers into unpredictable areas of the Backrooms.
How the Gameplay Works
One to eight players explore Backrooms environments while collecting loot and completing objectives. Useful items can be carried back to safety and sold, while materials contribute toward crafting gear that improves the team’s chances during more dangerous expeditions.
Encountering entities can reduce sanity, making supplies such as almond water valuable during longer trips. Players can also document discoveries in a journal and complete contracts while gradually learning which environments and creatures are likely to appear.
