About This Game:
Beholder 2 moves the series from an apartment building into the enormous Central Ministry of a totalitarian government. The player begins as a low-ranking intern surrounded by bureaucracy, ambitious coworkers, strict rules, and officials who are willing to use almost any method to improve their position.
Advancing through the Ministry means learning how the system operates and deciding what kind of employee to become. Coworkers can be helped, manipulated, investigated, or pushed aside, while the wider story gives players opportunities either to work within the regime or challenge parts of it.
How the Gameplay Works
Players complete bureaucratic duties, talk with Ministry employees, gather information, perform favors, and work toward promotion. Progressing through the organization opens new floors and brings Carl’s successor into contact with increasingly influential officials and more complicated political situations.
Advancement is not limited to simply completing paperwork. Players can investigate coworkers, spy on supervisors, discover secrets, build relationships, and scheme against rivals when useful. Decisions determine who benefits from the player’s actions and whether the character becomes a successful servant of the system or pursues a different goal.
