About This Game:
Bejeweled 3 is a match-three puzzle game built around swapping colorful gems to create matching lines and trigger increasingly valuable combinations. The familiar Bejeweled formula is expanded with several different game modes, special gems, challenges, achievements, and more relaxed alternatives for players who prefer puzzle solving without constant pressure. Matches can create chain reactions as new gems fall into the board and automatically form additional combinations.
Eight major modes provide different objectives beyond the traditional high-score format. Classic offers the familiar progression system, Zen removes the possibility of running out of moves, Lightning turns matching into a timed challenge, and Quest contains dozens of smaller puzzle objectives. Unlockable modes such as Poker, Butterflies, Ice Storm, and Diamond Mine introduce completely different rules while still using the same core gem-matching mechanics.
How the Gameplay Works
Players swap two neighboring gems to create a horizontal or vertical line of at least three matching colors. Matching four gems creates a Flame Gem, while T-shaped and L-shaped formations can create Star Gems. Matching five in a straight line produces a Hypercube that can remove every gem of a selected color from the board.
Different modes change what players need to accomplish. Lightning challenges players to earn points before time expires, Diamond Mine requires matches to dig through dirt and uncover treasure, Butterflies introduces pieces that must be cleared before reaching danger, and Ice Storm requires players to control rising columns. Badges are awarded for reaching different gameplay milestones.
