Bugs Must Die is a retro-inspired top-down shooter about eliminating invading alien insects with an oversized collection of weapons and vehicles. Its action draws heavily from arcade shooters, mixing constant enemy waves with bullet patterns, explosions, environmental hazards, and large mechanical bosses.

Players are not limited to a single gun or character ability. Machine guns, missiles, energy weapons, napalm, vehicles, and other tools allow encounters to be approached with different loadouts while progression gradually unlocks additional combat options.

How the Gameplay Works
Players move through top-down stages while aiming independently and firing into groups of alien bugs. Dodging projectiles is essential during denser encounters, while sub-weapons and limited special attacks can clear dangerous groups more quickly.

Vehicles provide heavier firepower and different movement characteristics, while collected resources can improve available equipment. Bosses introduce more elaborate projectile patterns and require players to combine movement, weapon switching, and sustained damage.
