Dark Reign 2 is a science-fiction real-time strategy game and prequel to the original Dark Reign. Two opposing factions battle across a devastated future Earth, each bringing different technologies, units, structures, and tactical strengths to the conflict.
The game combines base construction and resource collection with large battles involving infantry, vehicles, aircraft, defensive emplacements, and special units. Terrain and elevation can influence engagements, making battlefield positioning useful beyond simply producing a larger army.
How the Gameplay Works
Players gather resources, construct bases, unlock advanced technology, produce combat units, and issue orders in real time. Expansion must be balanced with defense because resource sites and vulnerable infrastructure can become important enemy targets.
