About This Game:
Dark Sector is a third-person action game following covert operative Hayden Tenno during a mission in the fictional Eastern European region of Lasria. After becoming infected by the Technocyte virus, Hayden survives but begins undergoing a transformation that gives him unusual abilities while much of the surrounding population turns into dangerous mutated creatures.
The infection eventually produces the Glaive, a three-bladed weapon that can be thrown and controlled in ways conventional firearms cannot. Hayden’s changing body also grants additional abilities as the story progresses, combining military gunplay with increasingly supernatural combat.
How the Gameplay Works
Hayden uses cover-based third-person shooting with pistols, rifles, shotguns, and other firearms while also throwing the Glaive. The weapon can decapitate enemies, collect distant objects, trigger switches, and absorb elemental effects from environmental sources.
New powers increase Hayden’s offensive and defensive options as the Technocyte infection develops. Players switch between firearms and Glaive attacks depending on enemy type, while environmental puzzles occasionally require the weapon’s special properties. Larger monsters and heavily armored opponents provide more demanding encounters later in the campaign.
