Expeditions: Viking is a historical tactical RPG set during the early Viking Age. Players create a clan leader, manage a group of followers, and travel from Denmark to Britain in search of wealth, influence, alliances, and a future for their settlement.
The game blends political choices, exploration, camp management, and turn-based combat. Decisions can shape how the clan is viewed by Saxons, Picts, rivals, and other groups.
How the Gameplay Works
Battles use a hex-based tactical system where positioning, weapon types, injuries, abilities, and party roles matter. Outside combat, the player explores settlements, completes quests, negotiates, trades, and manages resources.
Followers have personalities and opinions about the player’s actions, while the home settlement can be improved through accumulated wealth and political success.
