About This Game:
Fallout 2 is a post-apocalyptic role-playing game set generations after nuclear war destroyed much of civilization. Players become the Chosen One, a member of the tribal settlement of Arroyo who is sent into the wasteland to locate a Garden of Eden Creation Kit that may save the community from famine and environmental decline.
The search expands into a much larger journey involving settlements, criminal groups, traders, mutants, political organizations, and the powerful Enclave. The wasteland provides considerable freedom, allowing problems to be approached through combat, conversation, theft, technical skills, or other character abilities.
How the Gameplay Works
Players create a character using attributes, skills, traits, and later perks that influence nearly every part of the adventure. Exploration happens across a world map, while towns and other locations contain quests, merchants, companions, conversations, and hidden opportunities.
Combat uses a turn-based action point system where movement, attacks, reloading, and inventory actions consume available points. Dialogue choices depend heavily on character statistics and skills, and many quests support several solutions that can produce different consequences for individuals and entire settlements.
