Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is a dark survival horror RPG set in the isolated town of Prehevil during a deadly three-day festival. Fourteen strangers are drawn into the Termina ritual, where only one participant is expected to survive. The game mixes oppressive atmosphere, disturbing imagery, occult lore, and harsh consequences with an open-ended structure that rarely explains the safest path forward.
Unlike a conventional party RPG, the story is built around uncertainty. Characters can die permanently, lose limbs, suffer status effects, or disappear based on time and player choices. Exploring different districts, meeting contestants, and learning about the town gradually reveals what is happening, but many encounters can become dangerous without warning and there are several possible routes through the scenario.
How the Gameplay Works
Gameplay combines top-down exploration with turn-based battles, survival management, puzzle solving, and frequent risk assessment. Players search buildings for supplies, weapons, food, healing items, keys, and clues while deciding whether to fight, avoid, recruit, or betray other contestants. Saving is limited and the passage of time can change NPC locations, available events, and which opportunities remain open.
Combat uses targeted body parts rather than a simple attack command, so disabling an enemy’s arm, weapon, or special limb can be more useful than only dealing raw damage. Party composition, learned skills, occult abilities, equipment, hunger, and injuries all affect survival. Different protagonists begin with unique backgrounds and abilities, making repeated playthroughs feel substantially different.
