Fera: The Sundered Tribes is an open-world action RPG where players hunt giant monsters and help rebuild a tribe in a shattered fantasy world. Mobility and aerial traversal play a major role in exploration and combat.
A major part of the appeal comes from monster hunting, open-world exploration, and grappling and gliding. Rather than existing as separate ideas, they reinforce one another and give the progression more variety as new objectives, locations, or encounters appear.
How the Gameplay Works
Players use grappling and gliding movement, fight large creatures, collect materials, craft gear, and improve the settlement. Stronger equipment allows the player to challenge more dangerous beasts.
The later portions build on the opening loop through tribe rebuilding, crafting and gear, and large creature battles. Those elements add extra pressure and make earlier mechanics more meaningful, especially once the player has enough experience to combine them effectively. A large part of the depth comes from balancing monster hunting with open-world exploration and grappling and gliding. Early stages may allow a straightforward approach, but later challenges reward players who use those systems together. tribe rebuilding becomes increasingly valuable once the basic rules are familiar.
