Hero’s Hour is a fantasy strategy RPG inspired by classic hero-led conquest games but distinguished by battles involving large groups of units fighting simultaneously in real time. Players explore procedurally generated maps, gather resources, develop towns, recruit armies, and attempt to defeat rival factions.
Numerous factions provide different units, buildings, heroes, spells, and special mechanics. Maps are compact enough to encourage frequent encounters, making territorial expansion and army growth relatively fast compared with many traditional grand strategy games.
How the Gameplay Works
Heroes move around the world map in turns, capturing mines, visiting locations, collecting artifacts, recruiting troops, and developing towns. When opposing armies meet, combat shifts into real time and most units fight automatically.
Players influence battles through hero spells, unit placement, reinforcements, and strategic preparation rather than controlling each soldier individually. Hero levels, equipment, skills, troop composition, and town development determine long-term military strength.
