About This Game:
Hydroneer is a mining and automation sandbox where players dig through the ground searching for valuable resources and gradually turn a manual operation into an increasingly elaborate industrial system. Gold, iron, gems, and other materials can be processed, sold, or turned into crafted items for additional profit.
The game uses physical objects rather than abstract inventory numbers for much of its economy. Dirt, ore, tools, pipes, machines, vehicles, and crafted products exist directly in the world, allowing players to physically move and arrange the equipment that makes their mining operation function.
How the Gameplay Works
Early mining involves digging dirt with a shovel, placing it in buckets, washing it, and using pans to separate valuable resources. Money earned from selling materials can purchase pipes, drills, harvesters, conveyors, and other equipment that automate increasingly large parts of the process.
Water networks power many machines and must be designed so pressure reaches the equipment effectively. Players can expand to new mining plots, use vehicles to transport materials, build structures around their operation, and continually redesign production lines for greater efficiency.
