About This Game:
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a third-person action-adventure game that follows Kena, a young Spirit Guide traveling through an abandoned village and the surrounding wilderness in search of a sacred mountain shrine. Along the way, she encounters troubled spirits whose unresolved pasts have corrupted parts of the land. By helping these spirits confront what happened to them, Kena gradually restores damaged areas and uncovers more about the village and the people who once lived there.
The adventure combines exploration, environmental puzzles, platforming, and melee combat with a colorful fantasy setting. Kena is accompanied by small spirit creatures known as the Rot, which assist both during battles and while solving puzzles. As more Rot are discovered, they can help move objects, interact with corrupted areas, and support Kena against increasingly dangerous enemies.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Kena from a third-person perspective while exploring forests, ruins, caves, and other connected areas. Her staff serves as the main melee weapon and can be used for light and heavy attacks, while later abilities allow it to function as a bow for ranged combat. Kena can also dodge, block, and create a Spirit Shield to defend against incoming attacks, making timing and positioning important during tougher encounters.
The Rot can be commanded to distract enemies, expose weak points, manipulate objects, and help cleanse corrupted sections of the environment. Exploration includes climbing, jumping, searching for hidden collectibles, and solving puzzles that often require cooperation with the Rot. Progression unlocks additional abilities and combat upgrades, while major areas usually end with powerful boss encounters that test the player’s use of dodging, ranged attacks, Rot abilities, and defensive timing.
