About This Game:
Kentum is a survival-infused action adventure that combines crafting, automation, exploration, platforming, and Metroidvania-style progression. After sleeping for several thousand years, Kent wakes in the year 10,000 and discovers that humanity is effectively gone. Armed with little more than basic equipment and a remarkably dry attitude toward his situation, he sets out to survive the strange future Earth and begin rebuilding civilization.
The planet is now filled with unfamiliar biomes, useful resources, unusual creatures, and remnants waiting to be investigated. Building machinery and improving a base gradually turns survival into a more organized operation. Death is also incorporated into the world through cloning technology, allowing Kent’s mission to continue even when a particularly dangerous expedition ends badly.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore side-scrolling environments, gather materials, platform through hazardous areas, and search for resources needed back at the base. Crafting allows new tools and equipment to be created, while machines can automate parts of the resource-processing workload. Continued exploration opens access to additional areas and possibilities.
Combat and environmental hazards can kill Kent, but cloning provides a way to return and continue the larger mission. Progress therefore revolves around repeated expeditions, improving infrastructure, obtaining better capabilities, and reaching previously inaccessible parts of the world. Survival management and automation gradually become intertwined with the game’s exploration-focused structure.
