Luxor Mahjong combines traditional tile-matching puzzles with an Egyptian-inspired presentation. Players work through boards containing layered arrangements of decorated tiles, removing matching pairs until the entire layout has been cleared or no additional moves remain.
The game uses the familiar symbols and atmosphere associated with the Luxor series while replacing its marble-shooting action with slower puzzle gameplay. Different board layouts create new challenges because only uncovered tiles with an open side can normally be selected.
How the Gameplay Works
Players search the board for two matching tiles that are both available for removal. Clearing a pair may uncover additional tiles underneath, creating new matching possibilities and gradually opening the layout.
Because some tiles can become trapped by poor choices, planning several moves ahead can make difficult boards easier to complete. Special options and assistance features can help when a useful pair is difficult to locate, while progression introduces additional layouts and increasingly complicated arrangements.
