About This Game:
Mari and Bayu – The Road Home is a cooperative 2D platforming adventure following Mari, a small ant separated from her home, and Bayu, a magical firefly searching for his kidnapped family. Together they travel through a world where ordinary objects become enormous obstacles when seen from the perspective of tiny insects.
The adventure combines two different character styles rather than giving both heroes identical abilities. Mari relies heavily on physical movement and interaction with the environment, while Bayu’s wind powers allow the pair to manipulate objects and overcome challenges that neither character could handle alone.
How the Gameplay Works
Players run, jump, solve environmental puzzles, interact with insects, ride creatures, and use items such as feathers to move through the world. Bayu can generate wind that affects parts of the environment and helps Mari cross otherwise dangerous locations.
Two players can control Mari and Bayu separately in cooperative play, while a solo player can switch between their abilities. The journey passes through numerous environments containing insects, water, garbage, predators, and human objects that appear enormous at ant scale.
