Metro: Last Light Redux continues Artyom’s story beneath post-apocalyptic Moscow one year after the events surrounding the Dark Ones. Humanity remains divided among competing underground factions, and the discovery of a powerful military installation beneath D6 threatens to trigger a war between groups already struggling for territory and resources.
The campaign combines a heavily story-driven journey with survival horror, stealth, exploration, and first-person combat. The Redux release includes the previously released downloadable content while adding gameplay refinements and the same choice between Survival and Spartan play styles found in Metro 2033 Redux.
How the Gameplay Works
Artyom travels through populated Metro stations, abandoned tunnels, military installations, and dangerous sections of the surface. Players can use conventional firearms, pneumatic weapons, explosives, throwing knives, and other equipment while deciding whether to avoid enemies quietly or engage them directly.
Gas-mask filters remain essential above ground and in contaminated areas, while ammunition and supplies become especially important when using the Survival play style. Lights can be extinguished to create darker stealth routes, weapons can be customized with attachments, and exploration can uncover ammunition, filters, diary pages, and hidden areas. Ranger Mode further reduces interface assistance and increases the danger of combat.
