About This Game:
Mini Metro is a minimalist strategy simulation about designing an underground railway network for a city that continues growing around you. Stations appear gradually across an abstract map, and the player must connect them with train lines before passenger demand overwhelms the system.
The simple visual presentation hides a constantly changing logistics challenge. Every new station can create congestion somewhere else in the network, forcing players to redraw routes, redistribute trains, or spend limited upgrades before crowded platforms cause the entire system to fail.
How the Gameplay Works
Players drag colored lines between station symbols to create metro routes. Trains automatically travel along those lines and passengers wait for a train capable of reaching the station shape representing their destination.
As weeks pass, new stations and passengers appear more quickly. Periodic upgrades provide extra lines, locomotives, carriages, tunnels, or other resources, but there are never enough to solve every problem easily. Different city maps introduce their own geography and restrictions, while additional modes change how the network-building challenge works.
