About This Game:
Obey the Voice is a psychological horror game built around strict rules, constant pressure, and the danger of listening to the wrong instructions. After an accident, the player’s consciousness has been uploaded into a backup system. A mysterious Voice attempts to guide you through strange sections while also helping uncover who you really are, but other voices and threatening entities make following those instructions increasingly difficult.
The experience is designed around attention rather than traditional combat. Every area can introduce multiple rules at once, and even completing the correct action at the wrong moment can result in immediate failure. The entire story is structured as an intense short-form horror experience.
How the Gameplay Works
Players enter sections with specific objectives supplied by The Voice. Certain rules remain active throughout the game, such as ignoring other voices, avoiding eye contact with clearly non-human entities, and reacting correctly when signs of movement are discovered.
Completing a task usually requires paying attention to several threats at the same time. Red and blue buttons are used under specific circumstances to respond to danger or signal that an assignment is finished. Challenges are deliberately scripted rather than randomized, meaning progress comes from understanding the rules, improving timing, and remembering how each situation behaves.
