Patch Quest is a roguelite Metroidvania that combines twin-stick shooting with monster taming. Players explore the shifting island of Patchlantis, where dangerous creatures can be temporarily captured and ridden using a magical lasso.
The island changes between expeditions, but successful exploration restores parts of the map and helps players understand its interconnected regions. Every monster mount has its own movement ability and attacks.
How the Gameplay Works
Players dodge projectiles and fire weapons while navigating compact rooms filled with enemies and environmental hazards. Weakening a monster creates an opportunity to lasso it and ride it as a mount.
Mounted creatures provide specialized attacks and traversal abilities such as swimming, flying, or crossing hazards. Plants, ammunition types, charms, and permanent progression provide further ways to customize later expeditions.
