Plant Tycoon is a casual gardening and business simulation where players grow, breed, and sell plants while trying to discover rare and valuable species. The game begins with a small collection of seeds and limited resources, encouraging players to carefully raise each plant from seedling to maturity. As the nursery expands, new plant varieties can be created through crossbreeding, giving players a large number of possible combinations to experiment with.
The main objective is to discover the game’s special Magic Plants while building a profitable nursery along the way. Plants need water, treatment, and protection from pests or disease, and healthier specimens can be sold for better prices. Money earned from customers can be reinvested into improved soil, chemicals, seeds, equipment, and additional growing space, gradually making it easier to maintain more valuable plants.
How the Gameplay Works
Players place seeds into pots, water them, and wait for the plants to grow over time. Once mature, plants can produce pollen and seeds that can be used to create new generations. Cross-pollinating different plants produces new combinations, allowing players to experiment with species and flower types while trying to discover unusual or rare results. Each plant can be examined individually to monitor its health, age, and breeding potential.
Mature plants can be moved into the nursery and offered for sale, where customers enter and decide whether to purchase them. Players can adjust prices and use the money earned to buy supplies and upgrades. Insects may also appear around the greenhouse and can be collected, while plant illnesses and pests require attention before they reduce the value or health of the nursery’s plants. Progress comes from breeding better specimens, expanding the operation, and eventually discovering all of the special plants.
