About This Game:
The Amazing Spider-Man is a third-person action-adventure game set after the events of the 2012 film, following Peter Parker as a new crisis begins to spread through Manhattan. After visiting Oscorp with Gwen Stacy, Peter discovers that dangerous cross-species experiments are still being kept inside the company’s facilities. When the creatures escape and a deadly infection begins affecting the city, Spider-Man is forced to track them down while dealing with Oscorp security, robotic enemies, and other threats.
The game combines story missions with open-world exploration across Manhattan, allowing players to swing freely between skyscrapers, search for optional activities, and respond to crimes around the city. Spider-Man can use acrobatics, web attacks, stealth takedowns, and environmental objects during combat, while upgrades gradually improve his abilities. Large boss encounters and indoor missions are mixed with free-roaming sections to give the campaign a balance of exploration and more focused action.
How the Gameplay Works
Players control Spider-Man from a third-person perspective and travel around Manhattan primarily by web-swinging and climbing across buildings. The Web Rush system allows players to slow the action briefly and select nearby locations, enemies, or objects that Spider-Man can quickly move toward. This can be used during traversal, combat, and stealth, making it easier to reach rooftops, surprise enemies, or reposition during difficult encounters.
Combat combines punches, kicks, dodges, counterattacks, web abilities, and environmental attacks against groups of enemies. Spider-Man can also approach some areas quietly by moving along walls and ceilings before performing stealth takedowns. Completing missions and defeating enemies earns experience that can be used to unlock new combat and movement upgrades, while the open city contains side missions, collectibles, photography objectives, and optional challenges outside the main story.
