Poker Night at the Inventory is a comedic poker game that places the player around a table with four characters from very different fictional worlds. The opponents are Max from Sam & Max, Strong Bad from Homestar Runner, Tycho from Penny Arcade, and the Heavy from Team Fortress 2, all gathering at the secret Inventory for a relaxed but competitive game of Texas Hold ‘Em.
Much of the game’s personality comes from conversations between the characters rather than the poker rules alone. They joke, argue, tell stories, comment on hands, and react to one another while maintaining the personalities associated with their original games and comics.
How the Gameplay Works
Matches follow No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em rules. Players receive two private cards before shared community cards are revealed across the flop, turn, and river. Betting choices include checking, calling, raising, folding, or going all-in depending on the strength of the hand and how the opponents are behaving.
Eliminating all four opponents wins the tournament. Characters occasionally place special personal items into the pot when they run short of money, and winning those hands can unlock crossover rewards connected to Team Fortress 2 and other cosmetic content.
