Rise of the Triad is a 2013 reboot of the cult-classic first-person shooter that brings the H.U.N.T. team back for another extremely fast and deliberately exaggerated campaign. The game keeps the original’s combination of heavy weapons, ridiculous power-ups, dangerous traps, secret areas, and fast movement while rebuilding everything in a modern 3D engine.
The story follows the H.U.N.T. team as their investigation of a dangerous organization quickly becomes an open battle for survival. Players can select from different team members before entering levels filled with soldiers, robots, explosive hazards, moving platforms, and other deliberately chaotic obstacles.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat emphasizes speed and aggressive movement rather than slowly taking cover. Players sprint through stages, jump between platforms, avoid traps, collect keys, discover secret areas, and use conventional firearms alongside a collection of powerful missile weapons.
Launch pads and vertical level design regularly send the player across large gaps or into elevated areas. Temporary power-ups can produce unusual effects, while score bonuses reward stylish kills and exploration. Separate multiplayer modes recreate the fast competitive action associated with classic arena shooters.
