About This Game:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a prequel to Shadow of Chernobyl that follows an experienced mercenary named Scar. After surviving an unusually powerful emission, Scar becomes involved with the secretive Clear Sky faction and learns that instability inside the Zone is becoming increasingly dangerous.
The game shows the Zone before the events of the first installment and places stronger emphasis on competition between its factions. Stalkers, bandits, Duty, Freedom, military forces, mutants, and other groups fight over territory while anomalies and emissions continue reshaping the environment.
How the Gameplay Works
Players explore connected areas while completing missions, fighting enemies, searching for artifacts, and gathering equipment. Firearms and protective suits can be repaired and upgraded through technicians, allowing favorite equipment to remain useful for longer.
The Faction Wars system lets Scar support different groups as they capture or lose positions throughout the Zone. Artifacts are located using detectors around dangerous anomaly fields, while emissions periodically force the player to find shelter. Gunfights, exploration, trading, and survival systems all remain central to progression.
