About This Game:
Sniper Elite is a tactical third-person shooter set in Berlin during the final days of World War II. Players control American operative Karl Fairburne as he works behind enemy lines to prevent sensitive German technology and information from falling into the wrong hands as Soviet forces close in on the city.
Long-range marksmanship is the main focus, but missions also include stealth, close combat, explosives, and traditional firearms. Open areas give players opportunities to locate suitable firing positions and eliminate dangerous enemies before advancing toward mission objectives.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move through battlefields from a third-person viewpoint and switch into scoped aiming when using sniper rifles. Accurate long-distance shots require careful targeting, while higher difficulty settings place greater importance on factors affecting bullet placement.
Noise can sometimes help conceal gunshots, while crouching and careful movement reduce the chance of detection. Pistols, submachine guns, grenades, and explosives provide alternatives when enemies move too close for comfortable sniping. Missions reward patient observation over rushing directly into fortified positions.
