Speedball 2: Tournament is a futuristic sports game based on the brutal competition introduced in the classic Speedball series. Two armored teams enter an enclosed arena and attempt to score points while using tackles and physical contact to knock opponents aside and gain control of the metal ball.
The sport combines elements of handball, hockey, and full-contact combat while adding arena targets and other scoring opportunities. Matches are deliberately fast and aggressive, making control of the ball only one part of building a winning score.
How the Gameplay Works
Players pass and throw the ball between teammates while moving toward the opposing goal. Opponents can be tackled to steal possession, and players may choose to attack rival team members rather than immediately pursuing the ball.
Arena features provide additional ways to score or influence play, rewarding teams that make use of more than the two goals. Team development and competitive modes allow players to improve their squad while facing increasingly difficult opponents.
