SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is a remake of the classic 3D platformer based on the animated series. Plankton’s latest scheme has filled Bikini Bottom with uncontrolled robots, leaving SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy to travel across familiar locations and stop the machines from taking over.
The remake rebuilds the original adventure with updated graphics and restored content while preserving its collection-heavy platforming structure. Areas inspired by locations from the television series are connected through Bikini Bottom and contain characters, secrets, puzzles, enemies, and collectible items.
How the Gameplay Works
Players switch between SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy depending on the level and challenge. SpongeBob uses bubble-based attacks, Patrick can lift and throw certain objects, while Sandy’s lasso allows her to attack enemies and swing across larger gaps.
Golden Spatulas unlock additional areas, while Patrick’s Lost Socks and other collectibles reward more thorough exploration. Levels combine platforming, enemy encounters, sliding sections, environmental puzzles, and boss fights. Rehydrated also includes a multiplayer horde mode that was not part of the original release.
