Star Trek: Elite Force II is a first-person shooter that continues the adventures of Lieutenant Alexander Munro and the Hazard Team. After returning from the Delta Quadrant aboard Voyager, Munro eventually joins a newly formed Hazard Team serving aboard the USS Enterprise-E under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
The story sends the team on hazardous away missions involving hostile aliens, damaged spacecraft, mysterious technology, and threats that conventional Starfleet personnel are not equipped to handle. Several familiar Star Trek characters appear alongside new crew members, while the Enterprise-E acts as a central location between many missions.
How the Gameplay Works
Players move through mostly linear first-person combat missions while using a selection of Federation, alien, and conventional weapons. Many weapons support two firing modes, providing different options for conserving ammunition or delivering more powerful attacks. Hazard Team members frequently accompany Munro and assist during combat or mission objectives.
The tricorder is used outside normal gunfights to scan objects, identify structural weaknesses, interact with technology, and solve environmental problems. Energy weapons can be recharged at suitable stations, while projectile weapons depend on collected ammunition. Between missions, players also receive opportunities to explore parts of the Enterprise and interact with crew members.
