Star Wars: Battlefront is a large-scale action game that lets players fight directly inside famous battles from the Star Wars universe. Instead of following a single hero throughout the campaign, players become ordinary soldiers from the Galactic Republic, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Rebel Alliance, or Galactic Empire.
Battlefields are based on recognizable planets and locations from the films, with infantry, ground vehicles, defensive emplacements, and faction-specific units fighting for control. The game covers conflicts from both the Clone Wars and Galactic Civil War eras, allowing battles from across Episodes I through VI to appear within the same package.
How the Gameplay Works
Matches revolve around capturing and defending command posts spread across a battlefield. Each faction has a limited reinforcement count, and defeating enemy soldiers or controlling more command posts gradually pushes the opposing army toward defeat. If a player is eliminated, they can respawn at an available friendly command post.
Different soldier classes provide specialized weapons and roles, including standard infantry, heavy weapons, snipers, pilots, and faction-specific units. Vehicles such as speeders, walkers, tanks, and other machines can also be controlled on compatible maps. Single-player options include Historical Campaigns, Instant Action, and Galactic Conquest.
