About This Game:
Terra Nil is an environmental strategy game where the objective is to restore damaged ecosystems rather than construct a permanent civilization. Each region begins as a barren wasteland, and players use specialized machines to purify soil, bring back water, establish vegetation, restore wildlife habitats, and eventually remove their own infrastructure.
The process functions like a reverse city builder. Machines are necessary during restoration, but the final goal is to recycle them and leave behind a healthy landscape without evidence of industrial occupation.
How the Gameplay Works
Players first create a functioning ecosystem by placing power sources, toxin scrubbers, irrigators, and other equipment. Once enough greenery has returned, additional machines transform selected areas into specific biomes such as forests, wetlands, beaches, or other region-appropriate habitats.
Animals can return after suitable environmental conditions have been created. The final phase requires recycling buildings and transporting the recovered material away from the map. Because terrain and resources vary between generated regions, restoration layouts need to be adapted instead of repeated exactly.
