About This Game:
UNDYING is a survival game about Anling, a mother infected during a zombie outbreak who knows she has limited time before turning. Her goal is to teach her young son Cody the skills he will need to survive without her.
The emotional premise is tied directly to progression. Actions Anling performs can help Cody learn cooking, crafting, scavenging, or other useful abilities.
How the Gameplay Works
Players search ruined areas for food and materials, craft tools, cook, fight or avoid zombies, manage infection, and protect Cody. Travel and resource decisions become more difficult as Anling’s condition worsens.
Cody gradually becomes more capable and can help with tasks. The long-term challenge is not simply keeping Anling alive forever, but preparing her son well enough for the future while deciding how to use the remaining time. Most of the depth comes from understanding how zombie survival, mother-and-son story, and teach cody survival skills fit together during normal play. Each feature can become more valuable in a different situation, and crafting and scavenging gives later objectives another layer of difficulty. Adapting those systems to the current problem is usually more effective than following one rigid plan. The compact design still leaves room to improve because zombie survival and mother-and-son story remain useful throughout, while teach cody survival skills gives later stages enough variation to keep the core loop from becoming repetitive.
