About This Game:
Vagrus – The Riven Realms is a narrative-heavy role-playing and strategy game set in a dark fantasy wasteland devastated by an ancient magical catastrophe. Players become a vagrus, the leader of a traveling company attempting to survive and prosper by transporting goods, completing contracts, exploring dangerous regions, and dealing with the many factions scattered across the ruined world.
The journey is shaped by limited supplies, difficult decisions, companions, trade opportunities, and a world filled with strange settlements, monsters, undead creatures, and magical anomalies. Survival requires the caravan to remain financially and physically capable of continuing its travels.
How the Gameplay Works
Players travel across a large strategic map while managing crew members, supplies, cargo, equipment, money, and the condition of the traveling company. Settlements provide opportunities to trade, accept jobs, gather information, and interact with factions.
Dangerous encounters can lead to turn-based combat where companions use individual abilities against enemies. Decisions made during events and quests affect relationships and opportunities, while the open-world campaign allows players to pursue different ambitions and routes through the Riven Realms.
