Thea 2: The Shattering combines survival, RPG systems, 4X strategy, crafting, and card-based tactical challenges in a dark fantasy world influenced by Slavic mythology. Players act as a deity guiding a small group of followers struggling to survive among hostile creatures, rival groups, supernatural events, and limited resources.
The group can establish settlements and develop territory or remain mobile as nomads. Procedurally generated maps, character traits, events, resources, and encounters make each campaign develop differently, while the chosen deity provides its own bonuses and progression options.
How the Gameplay Works
Followers explore the world map, gather materials, craft equipment, hunt, research, complete quests, and recruit new members. Characters have individual attributes and equipment, making the survival of experienced followers especially valuable over a long campaign.
Conflicts are resolved through a tactical card-based system representing physical combat as well as other kinds of challenges.
