About This Game:
Warlords is a classic turn-based fantasy strategy game set in the land of Illuria, where eight rival factions compete for control of cities and territory. Each side begins with a small collection of settlements and armies before expanding across the map through conquest.
Despite its straightforward interface, the game combines army production, city defense, hero exploration, movement planning, and battles between different unit types. The objective is to become the dominant warlord by taking enough cities from every rival.
How the Gameplay Works
Each turn allows armies to move across the strategic map, attack enemy stacks, capture undefended locations, or enter friendly cities. Cities continuously produce military units that can be grouped into larger armies.
Heroes can search ruins for treasure and special allies, increasing the strength of the armies they lead. Because movement is limited each turn, protecting roads and anticipating enemy advances becomes important across the large map.
