About This Game:
World of Horror is a disturbing roguelite RPG inspired by Japanese horror manga and cosmic horror fiction. A seaside town is being consumed by unnatural events as ancient gods begin awakening, forcing the player to investigate several mysteries before the situation becomes irreversible.
Its stark monochrome artwork presents grotesque creatures, unsettling locations, and bizarre events through a deliberately retro interface. Cases are partially randomized, so characters, encounters, items, and consequences can change significantly between investigations.
How the Gameplay Works
Players choose locations to investigate, make decisions during events, gather clues, manage limited resources, and fight supernatural enemies through turn-based encounters. Health and sanity are both important, while the growing Doom percentage creates constant pressure to finish investigations efficiently.
Completing mysteries provides keys needed for the final confrontation, but injuries, curses, status effects, and poor decisions can make later cases much harder. Different playable characters, gods, mysteries, and unlockable content create many possible combinations across repeated runs.
