About This Game:
Autonauts is an automation and colony-building game where players land on untouched worlds and teach small robots how to perform repetitive tasks. The goal is to turn manual gathering and crafting into organized production systems that can support increasingly advanced settlements.
Instead of programming through traditional code, robots learn by demonstration. The player performs actions while a bot records them, then adjusts the resulting instruction sequence so the robot can repeat the job independently.
How the Gameplay Works
Players begin by collecting basic resources, crafting simple tools, and creating worker bots. Robots can be taught to chop trees, gather materials, farm crops, craft items, transport goods, recharge other bots, and maintain production chains.
As technology improves, automation expands into food production, housing, clothing, education, and larger colony systems. Efficient layouts, storage areas, bot teams, and reusable instruction loops make it possible to transform a small manual operation into a mostly self-running settlement.
