About This Game:
Bright Memory is a fast-paced first-person action game that combines gun combat, sword fighting, supernatural abilities, and environmental puzzles. Players take control of Shelia, an agent working for the Science Research Organization, after a conflict involving a mysterious ancient power leads to unusual events and dangerous creatures. The story combines futuristic technology with ancient Chinese-inspired environments and supernatural elements.
The game was originally created largely by a single developer and serves as the predecessor to Bright Memory: Infinite. Its combat is designed around combining different attacks rather than relying on firearms alone. Shelia can move between shooting, sword attacks, energy abilities, and other powers to build stylish combinations while fighting human and supernatural opponents.
How the Gameplay Works
Players experience the action from a first-person perspective and use several weapons alongside a sword and supernatural abilities. Enemies can be launched or controlled with special powers before being attacked with firearms or melee strikes, allowing different abilities to be connected into longer combinations. Successful combat awards points that can be invested into improving skills.
Abilities can be upgraded and new skills unlocked as progress is made, including powers capable of manipulating enemies or temporarily affecting time. Between combat encounters, players explore environments and solve puzzles needed to continue through the stage. Performance during fights is graded, rewarding players for using more creative combinations instead of repeating the same attack.
