Charterstone: Digital Edition adapts the competitive legacy-style board game into a digital strategy experience about developing villages within the kingdom of Greengully. Players control different charters and construct buildings that remain important as a campaign progresses across multiple games.
Worker placement forms the core of the design, but new buildings, rules, resources, and systems gradually appear as the campaign develops. The digital edition automates bookkeeping while retaining the evolving structure of the tabletop version.
How the Gameplay Works
On each turn, players place a worker onto an available building and perform its action, often gathering resources, converting materials, earning victory points, or opening new opportunities. Occupied locations can usually still be used, but doing so may return another player’s worker to them.
Resources are spent to construct new buildings within a charter and complete objectives. Campaign decisions permanently alter the developing village for later sessions, while standalone matches offer the same core worker-placement systems without requiring an entire campaign.
