Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is a third-person action-adventure set in the unusual world of Zenozoik. Players control Pseudo, a solitary martial artist who becomes responsible for protecting a small creature known as the Boy. Their journey brings them into conflict with Gemini, a powerful ruler whose forces pursue the pair across the strange and colorful landscape.
The game combines surreal world design with highly physical hand-to-hand combat. Fighting styles can be learned and mixed with special attacks, while the Ritual system introduces a separate dice-based contest that can alter the conditions of upcoming battles.
How the Gameplay Works
Combat centers on punches, kicks, dodges, parries, directional attacks, and stance-specific techniques. Players can switch between fighting styles and assign special moves to create a personal combat setup. Breaking an opponent’s guard creates opportunities for heavier attacks and more damaging combinations.
Before certain encounters, Pseudo can challenge an opponent to the Ritual. Dice and collected artifacts determine who wins, and victory allows the player to impose a combat modifier such as gaining an advantage or creating a restriction for the opponent. Exploration also includes nighttime sections, hidden areas, collectibles, and character progression.
