Close Combat: Gateway to Caen is a World War II tactical strategy game centered on the fighting west of Caen during the Normandy campaign. Its main operation is based around the British attempt to break through German defenses, capture important ground, and advance toward the Odon River.
The game combines a larger strategic layer with detailed real-time battles. Players are responsible not only for individual squads during combat but also for moving battlegroups across the campaign map, deciding where forces should concentrate and which positions are worth fighting to control.
How the Gameplay Works
